Foster Stained Glass is experienced in the
repair, restoration and protection of existing stained
glass windows. Following the standards and guidelines
for the preservation of historic stained glass windows
set forth by the Stained Glass Association of America,
we deal with all aspects of the restoration process. These
consist of documentation, dismantling, cleaning, dealing
with broken and missing glass, repainting, releading,
waterproofing, support systems, reinstallation and protective
glazing.
Notable restoration projects have included:
the complete restoration of the 100 year old leaded stained
glass windows in Mother Bethal AME Church, Philadelphia,
PA, a National Historic Landmark; the restoration of the
stained glass windows in the former 19th century English
Gothic Church of the New Jerusalem and Parish House which
now houses the Corporate Offices of Graduate Hospital
and won a 1989 Renovation Award from Commercial Renovation;
the 2000 sq. ft. of leaded stained glass in the 100 year
old First Presbyterian Church in Dodge City, KS; and the
restoration of the over 100 year old traditional figurative
"Life of Christ" hand-painted leaded stained glass windows
in the First Presbyterian Church, Houston, TX.
